Anthropic Connects Claude to Blender, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere and Other Creative Tools

Claude Gains Direct Access to Professional Creative Software

Anthropic has released a suite of connectors that allow its AI assistant Claude to interact directly with leading applications for design, 3D modeling, video editing, and music production — spanning Blender, Adobe, Ableton, SketchUp, and more.

In a blog post, the company stated that Claude cannot replace taste or imagination but can unlock new ways of working — faster and more ambitious ideation, a broader skill set, and the ability for creative professionals to take on large-scale projects.

Why This Matters

Integrating a large language model with professional creative tools marks a notable evolution in the AI ecosystem. Rather than generating content independently, Claude now operates as an embedded assistant within existing workflows used by designers, 3D artists, and musicians. This broadens Claude's user base and could fundamentally reshape how work gets done across creative industries.

Anthropic detailed the complete set of available integrations:

• Ableton — leverages Claude's responses grounded in official documentation for Live and Push;
• Adobe — brings ideas to life as images, videos, and designs using more than 50 tools across Creative Cloud apps, including Photoshop and Express;
• Affinity by Canva — automates repetitive tasks in professional creative workflows;
• Autodesk Fusion — enables designers and engineers with Fusion subscriptions to create and edit 3D models through dialogue with Claude;
• Blender — provides an interface to the Python API;
• Resolume Arena and Resolume Wire — lets visual effects artists control Arena, Avenue, and Wire;
• SketchUp — turns a conversation with Claude into a starting point for 3D modeling;
• Splice — allows music producers to search the Splice sample catalog directly from the Claude app.

A Dedicated Partnership with Blender

The Blender development team built an MCP connector that is officially available for Claude. Using it, 3D artists can analyze and adjust entire scenes or create custom scripts for batch-applying changes to objects within a scene.

Beyond the technical integration, Anthropic joined the Blender Development Fund as a patron, supporting the continued development of Blender's Python API.

How Claude Assists in Creative Workflows

The company highlighted four primary use cases for the new functionality:

• Learning — Claude acts as a personal tutor for complex software, explaining modifier stacks, synthesis methods, and unfamiliar features;
• Expanding capabilities through code — the AI writes scripts, plugins, and generative systems tailored to specific software;
• Unifying tools into a single pipeline — converting formats, restructuring data, and synchronizing assets within a project;
• Automating routine work — batch processing assets, setting up project structures, and applying procedural changes.

Anthropic is also collaborating with students and educators to develop learning programs, granting them access to Claude and the new connectors.

Context

Earlier in April, Anthropic unveiled Claude Design, an experimental AI-powered design generation tool. The release of MCP connectors for creative software continues the company's strategy of embedding Claude into the workflows of professional creatives.
